Consider this your introductory course. The 200hr Teacher Training program is designed for a serious student of yoga to further pursue the practice in an intensive, intimate atmosphere. All area of yoga will be touched upon, including asana (physical practice), meditation, anatomy and physiology, pranayama (breath work) and a comprehensive sampling of the different physical styles of yoga. Similarly, you will be invited to meet your inner teacher and develop the confidence and strength needed to lead a class and a community. This program is fully certified by the Yoga Alliance and allows you to register with the Yoga Alliance upon completion. Graduation is dependent upon completion of all required elements.
200hr Teacher Training is offered twice per year.
- Weekend program, in February (Friday evening, Saturdays and Sundays) for 6 months
- Weeknight program, beginning in June (4hrs each Thursday (one week off per month) for 6 months
300hr Teacher Training
The next step in your development as a teacher and community leader. This program is designed to further develop the voice and the eye of a teacher, along with distinguishing the teacher as a leader in a particular area of study. Taught alongside the 200hr Teacher Training Weekend Program, the 300hr Teacher Training is a guided mentorship program, along with a fully fledged academic program for advanced teachers. Teachers in the 300hr program will mentor and guide 200hr teacher trainees as well as delving deeply into advanced topics, such as hands on assists and yoga therapeutics, pranayama, sequencing and much more. Furthermore, 300hr Teacher Trainees will research, develop and teach a thesis project/workshop on a particular area of interest. The program is intended to specialize teachers in a passionate area of interest, as well as develop improved proficiencies in teaching general classes.
- Weekend program, beginning in January (Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays) for 9 months.
Restorative Yoga Teacher Training
This training is open to yoga instructors and students who have had a dedicated practice for at least two years. It is limited to 12 participants.
In this 50-hour training, you will learn the art and skill of teaching restorative yoga. All aspects of the subject will be covered.
Participants will learn:
The Art of “seeing” a body and developing your eye and intuition.
The cycle of stress in the body and mind, including the physiology and neuroscience of stress and relaxation
The physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of restorative yoga
Anatomy of the spine
Basic postures along with therapeutic adjustments
Beginning training in what embodiment is and therapeutic presence
How to lead a full restorative group class and how to sequence restoratives into an active practice
The beginning of working 1:1
Proper setups and adjustments for different bodies
Working with special populations (pregnancy, physical limitations)
Sequencing the class/Workshop
Sequencing restoratives into an active vinyasa class
A 50-hour certificate will be issued upon completion of the training.
In addition to the group training, students will be required to complete a project for final certification. Students will also receive a certificate of completion indicating 40 Yoga Alliance CEU hours in Restorative Yoga.
